Who we are
Bits N Pixels is a software development and consulting company based in Zirakpur, Punjab, working with clients across India, Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, North America and Australia.
We build custom applications, business platforms and mobile products — and, roughly as often, we take on systems someone else built that have become impossible to change. That second category has taught us more about how software fails than any greenfield project ever did.
What we believe about building software
Most projects fail before any code is written. They fail when requirements are agreed before anyone has watched the actual process, when an estimate produced at the point of maximum ignorance becomes a commitment, and when the first usable release arrives too late to act on what it reveals.
Software that cannot be changed is a liability. A system that works perfectly today and terrifies everyone who has to modify it is on a countdown. We write code intended to be handed over — consistent structure, tests around what matters, documented deployment, and no dependence on one person's memory.
Adoption decides everything. The most technically accomplished system is worthless if the people meant to use it work around it. If a shop-floor capture step takes too long, it will be skipped, and the data becomes fiction. We design for the person doing the work.
Sometimes the honest answer is no. A meaningful share of our scoping conversations end with us recommending an off-the-shelf product, a process change, or simply not doing the project. We would rather lose that work than take money for something that will not help.
How we are set up
We are deliberately a small senior team rather than a large pyramid. The people who scope your project are the people who build it, and there is no layer of account management translating requirements into something unrecognisable by the time it reaches an engineer.
For clients outside India we commit to defined daily overlap hours in the contract rather than promising vague flexibility, and we run the asynchronous half properly — written handovers, decisions recorded in the tracker, and enough context in every ticket that work continues while you sleep.
